SHIKHA GANGULY, as practitioner of Hindustani Classical Music, has reached a position where she can look back on a trail of trials, tribulations, patient working ahead and self enrichment. It's a trail spanning 27 years.
When one considers the inherentenigma, the intrinsic mystic element and fluidity of Hindustani Classical Music, keeping to the trail itself needs a strong persona vital to following the traditions in their entirety. Shikha Gangulynow deserves to be given position of an "accomplished" in her field, Hindustani Classical Music. To her the trail is revealing itself, signaling a deeper and deeper journey to the core of Hindustani Classical Music, and every body knows that the trial is infinite, ever unfolding, ever enriching to one's living reality.
